This is something I make almost everyday for my diners. It's got a little spice to it, so depending on your tolerance for spicy food it maybe mild or it maybe very spicy to you.
To get the finished product, what you see in the main picture is double the amount of the following recipe:
1 lbs Firm tofu ( crumble it in a bowl or in the pan )
3 Tbsp Tofu Scramble Spice
2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
2 Tbsp Tahini
1/2 C Oat milk. I use Oat, but any sort of milk or even water will work.
Directions
Feel free to adjust the measurements to suit your mood, taste buds, or whatever you have on hand—there’s no need to be exact. Cooking is all about personalizing flavors!
-
Crumble the tofu into a bowl or directly into your frying pan.
-
Cook the tofu slowly over low heat with a splash of your favorite oil. This gentle cooking helps evaporate moisture, allowing the tofu to brown beautifully and firm up as it dries out.
-
While the tofu is frying, prepare the flavorful sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the spice blend, tahini, nutritional yeast, and milk (or water). Let this mixture sit for a few minutes to meld and absorb the flavors.
-
Once the tofu is nicely browned, transfer it to your serving dish. Pour the sauce over the tofu and stir well, ensuring every crumb is thoroughly coated.
-
Here’s a key tip: The longer the tofu sits in the sauce, the deeper the flavor penetrates each bite. For best results, cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it rest in your oven on very very low—for up to an hour or two before serving.
-
Serve warm and enjoy!
- Leftovers should be covered tightly and refrigerated. Reheat gently for your next serving.
Bonus Tip: Many people love sprinkling the tofu scramble spice blend on other dishes too. It pairs wonderfully with a variety of foods, adding a burst of flavor wherever you use it.
